Chicago Mission Trip
June 20 - 26

This summer's mission trip to Chicago was another success. Nikki, Amber, Carolyn, Bella, and Katie went on the adventure with the fearless leaders, Beth and Pastor Wes. We helped St. Paul's Church with their evening Vacation Bible School, SonSurf Beach Bash. It was a great opportunity to help kids and nourish their faith. During our free time we visited the Lincoln Park Zoo, Navy Pier, and attended Cars 2 at a local theatre. We met ELCA Bishop Mark Hanson at the ELCA headquarters and enjoyed a tour of the building and chapel.

It was really a time to grow in our faith and bond with each other to become a more connected Youth Group. We learned some important lessons that we will all remember forever. Thank you to everyone who supported the group and enabling the us to have this experience.

Youth Dialog

On the 3rd Sunday of each month we will have a youth talk group. For each dialog we will invite a friend from the congregation to join us and lead us in a topic chosen by the youth group. See you on September 18th from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. in the Youth Room for our first monthly dialog.

National Youth Gathering for Grades 7 - 12

The youth group will be attending the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans in July of 2012. Youth between the ages of entering 9th grade to completed 12th grade in 2012 will be eligible to attend the gathering. Spirit of Christ is beginning the planning process.
