What is Spirit of Christ really like?

Our members are from mixed religious backgrounds who are Christ centered (Christian), authentic, Biblical, spiritual, diverse, caring, committed, evangelical, community based and mission minded.

We believe in God, the creator of life and the giver of all good gifts.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, the one who defeated death and arose to new life.
We believe in the Holy spirit, the spirit of truth that lives in us even today.
We believe in the church, the caring community that carries on the work of Jesus in the world.
We know that God loves us, and we are unafraid.
We believe in new life, both in this world and in the world to come.
We face the future without fear.

What time is worship?

Our regular worship is at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Sunday School is at 9:00 a.m. from September through May.

What happens at 10:00 a.m. worship?

Our worship is a one-hour service designed to help each person in attendance to experience God and find something to help them in their daily lives. Our liturgy is written specifically for each Sunday and is printed in our Sunday bulletins and projected on a screen at front of the sanctuary. Dress is always informal.

When do you serve Communion?

We celebrate communion every Sunday and everyone is welcome at the Lord's Table.

Does Spirit of Christ do weddings for non-members?

Yes, we do perform weddings. The sanctuary holds about 250 people.

Does Spirit of Christ perform baptisms for non-members?

Yes, we perform baptisms. Call for an appointment.

What is SPARK?

SPARK is a cooperative mission of Lutheran churches in St. Louis Park. Member churches include Spirit of Christ Community Lutheran Church, Lutheran Church of the Reformation, Wooddale Lutheran Church, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and Westwood Lutheran Church. Joint projects include Summer Day Camp, Youth In the Park, HipHop DriveIn.

We are a community based church
which supports other service providers.

Those service providers include: STEP (our local food shelf), Wayside Inc. (Women with addiction issues), Sojourner Project (Domestic Abuse), Our Savior's Outreach Ministries (Homeless shelter in Minneapolis), Dinner At Your Door and Meals on Wheels (Meals for Shut-ins), Children First (Program that promotes children assets), Local School Children (Gift cards for Counselors supporting elementary and junior high school children), West Metro Grief Support Group (for those experiencing death of loved one), Families Moving Forward (help for homeless families), plus we have two A.A. groups and three N.A. groups meeting at our Cedar Lake Road buidling and one A.A. group meeting at Spirit of Christ.
