Walk for Water - You can make a Difference!

Update

We have been learning more about the people in this world that lack sufficient water to meet their basic needs. Two-thirds of the world's families do not have access to water in their homes and must walk to get their water - walking an average of 3.7 miles and back again - in hopes of finding fresh water. Did you know that one out of every eight people in the world, roughly 884 million, lacks access to safe water? Or that waterborne diseases cause the death of more than 1.5 million children each year, which is around 5,000 children every day?

For . . . I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. Matthew 25:34.

On October 2nd, 34 pople walked (including our friends from Reformation Lutheran) and another group of supporters cheered them on. Over $1600 has been raised to date and these funds will be directed to Lutheran World Relief to support the gift of a well. Donations are still being accepted for Walk for Water. Thank-you for making a difference in the lives of those who lack access to safe water.

Please contact the church office to sign up and get more information.
